Who We Are
"She served her time. Now she deserves a chance."
Women supporting each other in community

Rehab Five is a community-based nonprofit organization founded in 2009, dedicated to helping formerly incarcerated women — and men — successfully reacclimate into society after release.

We understand that the moment someone walks out of prison, the real challenge begins. Where do you sleep? How do you eat? Who will hire you? How do you reconnect with your children? The system drops people at the gate with nothing — no home, no job, no support — and expects them to succeed. Rehab Five exists to change that.

Our five-pillar approach addresses every dimension of reintegration: housing, employment, mental health, family reunification, and community connection. We walk alongside returning citizens from day one through long-term stability — because reentry isn't a moment, it's a journey.

Headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Rehab Five has expanded to serve women in Greensboro, North Carolina, and across the state of Wyoming — meeting the reentry needs of communities that have historically been underserved.

"When she comes home, she doesn't need judgment. She needs a plan, a place to sleep, and someone who believes she can make it. That's what Rehab Five is."

The Five Pillars of Reentry
A complete foundation for rebuilding a life.

Every woman coming home from incarceration faces five critical needs. Our programs address each one — because missing any pillar means the whole foundation crumbles.

1

Housing

Safe, stable transitional housing for women leaving incarceration. A roof first — everything else builds from there.

2

Employment

Job readiness training, employer partnerships, and skills development. Economic independence is the path to freedom.

3

Mental Health

Trauma-informed counseling, substance abuse support, and mental health services to heal from the inside out.

4

Family Reunification

Supporting mothers reconnecting with children, rebuilding relationships, and restoring family bonds that incarceration strained.

5

Community Connection

Mentorship, peer support, civic engagement, and belonging — because no one rebuilds alone.

Our Programs
Real solutions. Real structure. Real results.
01

The Brigade

Our flagship reentry support program. A structured 90-day intensive that meets women at the gate and walks them through housing placement, employment readiness, counseling enrollment, and family reconnection. The Brigade pairs each participant with a dedicated reentry coach who stays with them through the first critical months of freedom.

Email Army

A digital literacy and communication program that teaches returning citizens essential technology skills — email, online job applications, digital banking, telehealth, and virtual court check-ins. In today's world, digital access IS access to services, jobs, and justice. Email Army bridges the technology gap that incarceration created.

Second Chance Housing

Transitional and permanent supportive housing for formerly incarcerated women. We partner with landlords who believe in second chances, providing rental assistance, case management, and a stable address — the foundation everything else depends on.
