The 3P Initiative, LLC ("3P", "we", "us") collects information that you provide when you create a profile on our platform. This includes your name, email address, phone number, employer, city, state, zip code, professional title, trade or profession, and security question answers. We also collect information submitted through our recognition form, including the name of the person being recognized, the recognizer's name, and any optional contact information provided.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and maintain your 3P profile and recognition record
- Send you notifications when someone recognizes you (via email or SMS, if you have opted in)
- Verify your identity when you access your profile
- Track recognition patterns and calculate community impact metrics
- Display public recognition records on our platform
3. SMS Messaging and Mobile Information
If you opt in to SMS notifications, you consent to receive text messages from The 3P Initiative at the mobile number you provided. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us.
Mobile information and messaging consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your phone number is used solely by The 3P Initiative to send recognition notifications that you have explicitly opted in to receive.
SMS opt-in is a first-party action. Only you can consent to receive text messages on your own behalf. No other person can opt you in. Consent is collected at the time of profile creation through a checkbox that you must actively select.
4. Public Recognition Records
Recognition submissions on the 3P platform are public by design. When someone submits a recognition, the recognizer's name, the person recognized, and the description of the recognition become part of a permanent public record. This is the core purpose of the platform. Profiles are linked to recognitions but do not display personal contact information publicly.
5. Data Retention
Recognition records are permanent by design. They do not expire and are not deleted. This permanence is the foundation of the 3P platform. Profile information is retained for the lifetime of the platform. You may request that your contact information (email, phone) be removed from your profile, but recognition records associated with your name will remain as part of the public record.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your mobile information or messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:
- With service providers who help us operate the platform (email delivery, SMS delivery, web hosting) under contractual obligations to protect your data
- When required by law or legal process
7. Data Security
We protect your information through five layers of integrity: rate limiting, self-nomination prevention, profanity filtering, celebrity name filtering, and IP-based pattern detection. Security question answers are stored and used only for identity verification. API keys and authentication credentials are stored securely and never exposed in public-facing pages.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your profile and recognition records
- Update your profile information
- Opt out of SMS notifications at any time (reply STOP to any message)
- Request removal of contact information from your profile

9. Children's Privacy
The 3P platform is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
