1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating a profile or submitting a recognition on The 3P Initiative platform ("3P", "we", "us", "the platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with these terms, do not use the platform.
2. What 3P Does
The 3P Initiative is a recognition platform. People recognize other people for the good things they do in everyday life. Those recognitions are documented permanently. The platform is the record. People are the engine.
3. Recognition Submissions
When you submit a recognition, you acknowledge that:
- The recognition becomes a permanent public record
- Recognition records cannot be deleted once submitted
- You are submitting a truthful recognition of a real person
- You are not submitting on behalf of anyone else without their knowledge
- Submissions are subject to five layers of integrity review before going live
4. SMS Notifications and Consent
If you provide your mobile number and opt in to SMS notifications during profile creation, you consent to receive text messages from The 3P Initiative at the number you provided. You understand that:
- Message and data rates may apply
- You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message
- Consent is not a condition of using the platform or creating a profile
- Mobile information and messaging consent are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes
- Only you can opt yourself in. No other person can consent on your behalf.
By checking the SMS opt-in box during profile creation, you provide direct consent to The 3P Initiative, LLC to send you text notifications when someone recognizes you.
5. Profiles
Creating a profile is optional. You can submit recognitions without a profile. If you create a profile, your profile information is linked to your recognitions and stored permanently. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide.
6. Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- Submit false or fraudulent recognitions
- Submit recognitions on behalf of yourself (self-nomination)
- Use the platform to harass, defame, or misrepresent any person
- Attempt to circumvent the integrity filters
- Submit automated or bulk recognitions
- Use profanity, vulgar language, or celebrity names in submissions
7. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property associated with the 3P platform, including the Community Impact Score framework, the 3P Official Seal, the 3P methodology, and all software code, is the exclusive property of The 3P Initiative, LLC. You may not use, copy, or distribute 3P intellectual property without written permission.
8. Limitation of Liability
The 3P Initiative provides the platform on an "as is" basis. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Our maximum liability shall not exceed any amount you have paid to us, if any.
9. Privacy Policy
Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using the platform, you also agree to the terms of our Privacy Policy, available at our Privacy Policy page.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of West Virginia. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Cabell County, West Virginia.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
